Same Card Design, Two Different Occasions

Hello!

I'm here today to share a fun card design I sketched in my notebook recently.  I love using sentiments as part of the background design.  I used the Sunshine Wishes flower die (141489) to cut 3 flowers, one cut from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP (144110), one from Tranquil Tide card stock (144246), and one from Daffodil Delight card stock (119683).

The background is stamped with the Thank You sentiment and the bubble splatters from the new Sale-A-Bration set Eclectic Expressions that you can choose for FREE with a $50 order. Then I ran that panel through my Big Shot (143263) using the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder (143710).  I finished the card off with some Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine (124262) and some enamel shapes from the Subtles (141679) and Brights (141680) packs.

Here I used the same design but changed the card color (Crumb Cake card stock 120953) and stamp set (Sunshine Sayings 141591).

And that's it! A simple card design you can customize to whatever occasion you need.  Which one appeals to you most?

Thanks for visiting me today! Make it a great and crafty day!

Stampin' Blends

Hello!

I've already told you how much I love Stampin' Blends.  Before I show you some cards I've made with them, here's Carey from the Stampin' Up! Home Office to show them in action:

Here are some cards I've made recently using Stampin' Blends.  Some are cased from other Demonstrators.

This last one I pretty much straight out copied. LOL.  Except the demonstrator made a different card size so I changed the size and altered the placement of the lanterns.  I should have made note of who the designer of this card was. If it was you, thank you for your inspiration!

And that's it! In case you didn't get my message before, I LOVE Stampin' Blends! I almost have the complete set.  I've been accumulating them slowly.  :D

Thanks for visiting me.  Make it a great and crafty day!

Stamping, Visiting and Eating!

Hello!

I held my Occasions/Sale-A-Bration Open house this past Saturday.  It was so much fun for me and I hope it was fun for my visitors. The friends, the stamping, the food.  And the weather.  Unseasonably warm and perfect!

This is how I set up some of my displays.

And, of course, the food!

This was our Make & Take

I just love Stampin' Blends and share them with my customers as much as I can.  Our cute Mermaid's tail is colored with the light and dark Calypso Coral Blends.  So pretty!

And that's it! A small peek into my Open House.  They are a lot of work but so much fun!

Thanks for visiting me!  Make it a great and crafty day!

CASE-ing the Catalog

Hello!

I'm sharing a card today that I CASEd (Copy and Selectively Edit) from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  Did you know our catalogs are more than just a list of products and prices?  The Annual Catalog is an invaluable resource for card and project ideas.  I decided to make the card on the bottom right using the color combo at the top of the page there which is Old Olive, Rose Red, and Crushed Curry.

One of the best things about CASE-ing is if you don't have that particular stamp set, you can substitute for any stamp set you have!  In this case I used the Hostess Set Tranquil Tulips (143767).  I just love this set.  It's so sweet and pretty.  The sentiment is from Lots of Love (143799). To get just the right sized circle to cut out the sentiment I used one of the circles from the Layering Circles Framelits (141705).

This is a really simple card and sometimes I love to do that.  Just simply stamps, card stock, and ink.

And that's it!

Pull out your catalog and find a card that appeals to you.  Create it as is, or change things up a bit.  CASE-ing is fun and rewarding!

Just a reminder that when you place a $30+ order in my online store using the February Hostess Code at the top right, I'll send you a pack of the Brights Enamel Dots!

Thanks for joining me today! Make it a great and crafty day!

Springtime Foils

Hello!

I'm playing with the new Springtime Foils DSP that will be available as a new Sale-A-Bration item starting February 16th!  These are gorgeous papers in Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold foil designs.

I knew all this floral piece needed was a little corner cluster.  Gold embossing (109129) on Blushing Bride card stock (131198) pairs fantastically with the rose gold in the DSP.  The Banner stamp is from the Banners for You stamp set (141710) and die cut with the Bunch of Banners die (141488).

The background of the DSP isn't ivory but it isn't exactly white either so since I mounted it on a Thick Whisper White card base (140272), I decided to tie everything together with a peek of a Delicate White Doily (141701).

Then, of course, I had to add some Gold Mini Sequin Trim (144128) just to bling it out even more.  This is a simple, yet stunning card that would be perfect for a wedding or anniversary, don't you think?

Well that's it!  What do you think about the rose gold trend?  Honestly, I didn't used to like it but I'm loving it more and more and can't wait to create with this gorgeous paper again!

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Make it a great and crafty day!

Creating a Card from a Sketch

Hello!

Today I want to share two cards I made using this sketch I found online.  Sometimes, I feel stuck about what to create.  In those cases, I like to find a fun sketch as inspiration.

My first card used the sketch as an element and surprisingly, this card has no stamping on it!  But sometimes you can totally do that and I love how the Celebrate Embossing Folder (142760) gives the sentiment a subtle place on the card. The punched bottle caps and yellow hexagon paper are from the super fun Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper you can earn for free in my online store with your $50 order during Sale-A-Bration!

Looking up close, you can  see that I used the clear epoxy shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes pack (145632) to accent the lime slice bottle caps.

This photo isn't the greatest but can you see the stars hearts, and half circle shapes look a little raised too?  I filled those shapes in with my Fine Tip Glue pen (138309), one of my favorite uses for that glue!

My second card takes the sketch pretty literally as you can see.

I used the flower and sentiment from the Color Me Happy stamp set (144069).  I used my favorite new coloring tools, my Stampin' Blends (147475), to bring these fun flowers to life.  Did I tell you I love the Stampin' Blends? So fun and easy to use and just look at those results! You can buy the Blends one at a time, two at a time or the whole set for a little bit of a discount.

I finished the card off with a gathering of Black Metallic Thread (141695) to emphasize the sentiment.

And that's it! So the next time you feel stuck for inspiration, find a sketch and see what you can create with it.  I promise it'll get your creative mojo spinning in no time!

Make it a great and crafty day!

Swirly Bird Background Technique

Hello!

I'm here today to show you a fun card with a unique background. I'm pretty much a rule follower.  Have been my whole life and so I like to use stamp sets as they were intended. But sometimes a little rebellious streak pops up and I try to think outside the box using my stamps.

For this card I took the kite stamp pieces from Swirly Bird (141749) to create a fun, graphic, rainbow background and the result just has me giddy!

My color palette included Melon Mambo, Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry, Lemon Lime Twist, and Bermuda Bay with a pop of Archival Black.

I took the solid kite stamp and stamped a row in each color.  Then I came in with the striped kite stamp and, using the same colors, stamped in between the solids.  It's not lined up perfectly because I'm more of an eye-baller than a measurer but I think that's what gives this background a fun, funky, and most importantly, happy vibe.

To finish my card, I stamped the sentiment and one of the banner pieces from Banners for You (141710) with my Archival Black onto vellum and Whisper White card stocks then I sprinkled clear embossing powder and heat set them.  The imperfect sentiment circle comes from the inside of the Swirly Scribbles die (141497).  I accented the background with the splatter stamp from Swirly Bird just to give it a little something extra.  I accented a few of the splatter dots with the glittery epoxy shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes pack (145632).

And that's it! Take a look at your stamps and see how you can use them in unusual and fantastic ways!

Make it a great and crafty day!

CASE-ing with Beautiful Bouquet
